If you’re in the Republic of Ireland, you can get emotional support by contacting the Samaritans by calling their 24/7 helpline, or Crisis Text Line by texting ‘HELLO’ to 507708.
If you are an elderly person, or you’re concerned about an older person falling victim to a scam, you can get specific, free and confidential advice by contacting your local HelpAge International office or Age International.
Other Services
If you need additional support, Europol has put together a large selection of crime-prevention guides on its website aimed at raising awareness amongst the general public.
You can also get the answers to your questions directly from the EU by contacting Europe Direct.
